(J + J's wedding)
J+J's wedding is a botanical themed wedding lunch hosted in a hotel venue decorated with lush greenery.
Logo
The decision to intertwine both Js was made to signify the act of marriage and to recognise that union. By incorporating the two key visual elements, one based on the bridal bouquet and the other the groom's boutonniere, the design gives both parties representation in the logo.
Fonts
Font choices were made in conjunction with the logo, picking out something that could flow into each other with a certain elegance. The other font was chosen for its simple and clean look.
Stylings
A print like pattern was created based on the visual elements of the bouquet and boutonniere. The use of the same colour palette shows the relation between the two while the swap in colour use helps creates distinction.
The primary visual identity of the project was centered around two aspects, the botanical decorations of the venue and the bouquet and boutonniere. Taking inspiration from the botanical style, it was implemented as framing for the print materials to tie them into the look of the wedding. The bouquet and boutonniere were simplified and implemented across the entire project.
The Floorplan
To enable clarity in wayfinding, the segregation of seating between the two zones was a focus in the design. Each zone primarily held guests from either party of the couple. As such the bouquet and boutonniere print pattern was used to convey that arrangement.
Wedding favours
A mock up of pins done as an idea for wedding favours. With the two designs correlating with either the bride or groom, they can be given to guests depending on who they were related to.
